Reasons for the surface fracture of 316L stainless steel strip

The surface fracture of 316L stianless steel strip will affect its price. So why does the surface of 316L stianless strip have fracture?

In general, the temperature of the furnace air supply is about 200℃. The temperature of 316L stainless steel strip heat resistance is less 100℃. If the temperature of the air supply is over 100℃, it is necessary to open the bypass flue so that the flue gas can be cut off. The purpose of this is to reduce the air supply temperature of the air preheater.

If the firepot has not bypass flue, and adds the waste heat steam generator, 316L stainless steel strip will has fracture easily. Generally speaking, the waste heat steam generator needs to be installed in front of the air preheater, so that the temperature of the flue gas in the air preheater can be reduced.

Keep the temperature of the air supply between 80 and 90°C, so that the temperature is almost below 100°C. The surface of the 316L steel strip is not prone to breakage, and it will not produce obvious oxides.

Without a waste heat steam generator, the supply air temperature in the furnace is as high as 200°C.

316L steel often has cracks on the surface. If the waste heat steam generator is installed, the air supply temperature will be lowered. Not only is it not easy to break the 316L steel strip, but it also improves the oxidation performance and prolongs the service life.

In addition, because the 316L stainless steel strip has been in over-temperature operation for a long time, it is worthwhile that oxides appear on its surface, so the mechanical strength of the steel strip surface is reduced, the texture becomes brittle, and cracks gradually appear.
